On our lists

Bahía del Duque is a five-star resort laid out like a 19th-century Canarian colonial village, with more than 63,000 square metres of gardens running down to Playa del Duque. Guests step straight onto the beach, and Tenerife South airport is about 20 minutes away. There are 386 rooms and 58 suites, plus the Casas Ducales area with its own service and 40 villas with plunge pools.

Food is a big draw: ten restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Nub, a Japanese room and a beach club, along with 13 bars and lounges. There are six pools, two of them saltwater and three heated including the children's pool. Children aged 3 to 12 have a daily Mini Club, teenagers have their own club, and the Bahía Wellness Retreat covers spa treatments and physiotherapy. It suits families and couples who want a full resort with real beach access.
