The south
Los Cristianos grew from a fishing village into a lively resort without losing its working harbour, where ferries leave for La Gomera and the other western islands. The town has a sandy bay, a long promenade and plenty of shops and restaurants. It suits families, couples and longer stays, and the flat seafront makes it one of the easier places on the island to get around.

Tenerife South (TFS) is about 15 to 20 minutes away by road, and a taxi from the rank outside arrivals is the simplest transfer. Las Vistas is the big one: 850 metres of pale golden sand with easy access, sunbeds and a 2026 Blue Flag. Los Cristianos beach is the smaller bay by the harbour, also pale sand and right in town. El Camisón, with fine golden sand, is a few minutes' walk further along the promenade towards Playa de las Américas.
The port shapes the town. Ferries leave Los Cristianos for San Sebastián de La Gomera in about 50 minutes, and there are sailings to La Palma and El Hierro too, so island hopping is easy. A broad avenue runs along the beaches, and most of the area's shops and cultural life are here. The streets behind the harbour keep a small town feel.
