DWO Nopal sits on Calle San Juan, next to Plaza del Charco in the old heart of Puerto de la Cruz, and about 250 metres from the beach. The hotel was fully refurbished in 2019 and its 64 rooms are individually decorated, from singles and family rooms for three or four to Premium doubles with a large private terrace.

The highlight is the fifth-floor rooftop: a raised pool with glass walls, Balinese beds and loungers, all facing Mount Teide. Breakfast is a buffet with hot dishes cooked to order, served beside that terrace. The Mirador rooftop bar opens from Wednesday to Sunday for cocktails and Canarian tapas, and a free yoga and pilates class runs on Saturday mornings for guests. It suits couples and friends who want style, views and the town's best-known square on the doorstep.
