Hotel Atlantic El Tope sits on a promontory close to the centre of Puerto de la Cruz, with views across the ocean, the town and Mount Teide. It is part of Macaronesian Hotels & Resorts and is being shaped around family holidays.
The big draw for children is Atlantic Splash, a water play park of more than 400 square metres with slides, water cannons, curtains and a giant tipping bucket, which the hotel says is the only one in town. Several pools look out over the views, and there is a pool bar, a lobby bar with live music and The Top, a rooftop bar for cocktails. Meals are at the buffet with live cooking, and all inclusive is available. Family rooms sleep four. It suits families who want water fun and town life together.
There is no spa on site, but guests get preferential terms at the adults-only spa of sister hotel Atlantic Mirage, about a 12-minute walk away; book through reception.
