Hotel El Patio sits on an estate of more than 60 hectares of banana plantations at El Guincho, just outside Garachico on the north coast. Rooms are spread across three parts of the finca. The Hacienda rooms gather around the central patio, where one historic house dates from 1565; the Bananera rooms stand about 500 metres away among the plants, all with terraces; and the Balcón del Teide villa, about 800 metres off, sleeps six and has its own pool.
The grounds are the draw: gardens, a pool, a tennis court and room to wander between the banana rows. Massages, excursions, buggy hire and airport transfers can be arranged, parking is free and there is a charger for electric cars. Garachico's old streets and sea pools are a short drive away, which makes this a calm base for couples and anyone exploring the northwest at an easy pace.
