Hotel Emblemático San Agustín fills a manor house built in 1736 in the protected old quarter of Icod de los Vinos, with Teide rising behind the town. The house was close to ruin before a two-year restoration, and it now shows off Mudéjar coffered ceilings, carved window panels, wooden floors and a fountain in the central Canarian patio.
There are only eight rooms, each decorated differently. Six open onto the patio and two face one of the main shopping streets. Rooms are 18 to 24 m², with fine cotton sheets, a pillow menu and marble bathrooms with multi-jet showers. Breakfast is included in every rate and served in the patio café, which also does light snacks and fresh juices through the day. The Drago Milenario and the church of San Marcos are a short stroll away, and Playa de San Marcos is about 3 km downhill. It suits couples and travellers who want comfort and character over facilities.
The street has restricted traffic, so guests park free in the Parking del Drago by the dragon tree and walk a few minutes to the hotel.
