Hotel Rural Casablanca is a restored and extended 18th-century Canarian house on a 15,000 m² country estate, 600 metres up the hillside above Los Realejos. From here the views run up to Teide and down over the north coast, and the farmland and ravines around the house are laced with walking paths.
Rooms range from standard and superior doubles to studios and family rooms, many with a terrace. The covered pool is heated and open all year, which matters at this height. Breakfast is a buffet of local produce, and an optional half-board dinner caters for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free diets with notice. Families are well looked after, with cots and high chairs, a safe outdoor play area, a trampoline and table tennis. There is free Wi-Fi and parking, and yoga and slow-travel programmes run through the year. It suits families with young children, walkers and couples who want space and views.
