Finca La Hacienda is a rural hotel of nine apartments in Tierra del Trigo, a small hamlet in the hills above Los Silos in the Isla Baja area of the north-west. You reach it by climbing through banana plantations, and the old farm estate is set among fruit trees, with whitewashed cottages, stone steps and garden terraces looking out over the coast.
There are five apartments for couples with one bedroom, three family apartments with two double bedrooms, and one large family apartment with three bedrooms. Each has a living area with its own kitchen, so you can self-cater, and the on-site restaurant serves hearty Canarian food when you would rather not. Barbecues can be arranged on request, and a horse, a few sheep and some cats live on the farm. The trails of the Teno rural park start nearby. It suits walkers, families and small groups who want a simple, rural base with space to cook.
