Finca Salamanca is a rural hotel in a restored manor house on a 50,000 m² estate, about 1.5 km below Güímar town on the road down to El Puertito. The estate's old tobacco drying house is now the restaurant, and a 2,500 m² botanical garden of native Canarian plants steps down over four terraces. There are 20 rooms, from standard doubles with a terrace or balcony to junior suites with a separate lounge.
The outdoor pool is heated, and there is a solarium, a reading room, a library and a games room, with free parking. The restaurant is the heart of the place, and half board makes sense in an area this peaceful in the evening. Teide rises behind the valley, and the small beaches at El Puertito, the Pyramids of Güímar and the Malpaís reserve are a short drive away. It suits couples, small families and anyone after calm countryside on the quieter east side of the island.
