Silken Saaj Maar sits on the San Telmo promenade, the pedestrian seafront that runs along the rocky Atlantic edge of central Puerto de la Cruz. It is a compact, adults-only hotel of 69 rooms with a modern look, and the sea-view rooms have private balconies over the water. Up top, the Hawa Rooftop combines a pool, a bar and an evening restaurant with wide views of the horizon.
Below, the small spa has a hydromassage pool, therapeutic jets, a sauna, a steam room and an ice fountain, and the gym is free for guests. Breakfast and dinner are buffets at Udo, with chefs cooking at live stations. Step outside and the cafés of the old town, the harbour and the Lago Martiánez pools are all a short stroll away, which makes this an easy car-free base for couples.
