TUI BLUE Atlantic Hills sits in Parque Taoro, the green hillside park above Puerto de la Cruz, in a building that grew from a 19th-century English country house and has been fully refurbished. It is adults only, from 16, with 137 rooms, and the setting looks out over the Atlantic and up towards Mount Teide. The town centre is a short walk downhill.

There are three pools: a large main pool, an infinity pool with hydromassage and town views, and the Serenity Pool kept for Club guests. Two rooftop sun terraces add more hydromassage areas, and the BLUE SPA has a water circuit that plays with different temperatures. Eat at the buffet restaurant or book the à la carte Culinarium, then finish at the piano lounge. It suits couples who want a calm, well-kept base with the town close by.
