Hotel Rural El Navío is a small hotel on a working banana finca of about 75,000 m², just outside Alcalá on the west coast, with La Gomera across the water. It sits about 40 metres above the sea in a sunny spot and takes guests aged 16 and over only. There are just 11 rooms, each with a large terrace furnished with hammocks.

The estate is the experience. A walk of about 900 metres leads through tropical gardens and past the farm animals down to the shore, and a guided route takes in the orchard, the irrigation and the volcanic ground. Back at the house there is a pool, a solarium, a reading room with board games and a piano, and a restaurant cooking traditional Canarian food largely from the farm's own produce. Breakfast is included and dinner is optional. Los Gigantes is about 5 km away. It suits couples who want peace, space and real rural character within reach of the coast.
