Médano Hotel has been welcoming guests for more than 60 years, and its position is the whole point: the building stands directly over the ocean at the edge of Playa del Médano, with the red cone of Montaña Roja along the shore. El Médano grew from a fishing village into a relaxed town known for windsurfing and kitesurfing, and the hotel sits right on its seafront, with the promenade, cafés and beach on the doorstep.
There are 91 rooms across six types, from standard rooms to deluxe doubles with sea views, some with balconies over the water. A terrace looks out over the sea, and the Costa Roja restaurant serves meals, with a brunch and a takeaway option too. Tenerife South (TFS) is a short drive. It suits couples and independent travellers who want the sea under their window and a town around them rather than a big resort.
