Playa Surf CBbC Hotel, long known as Hotel Playa Sur Tenerife, stands right on Playa del Médano with direct access to the sand. Its 76 rooms have been renovated and range from basic doubles to sea-view junior suites, some with terraces looking over the bay. Tenerife South (TFS) is about ten minutes by car, and shared or private transfers can be booked.
This is a hotel built around the water. Wind Center Playa Surf, a separate school a few steps away on the beach, rents kit and teaches windsurfing, kitesurfing, wingfoil and surfing, and the hotel's Surf Box stores equipment on request. Back at the hotel there is an outdoor saltwater pool with a sun terrace and loungers, and the HITO 257 restaurant next door serves food and cocktails on a seafront terrace. It suits active couples and friends who want to be on the water early and close to El Médano's cafés later.
