La LagunaOn our lists
Costa Mágica is a small boutique hotel on the rugged coastline below Valle de Guerra, in the farming country north of La Laguna. With just 12 rooms and suites, and a minimum age of 16, it feels more like a private retreat than a hotel, with gardens, sea views and the sound of the waves.
The infinity pool looks straight out over the Atlantic, and the wellness area adds a sauna, a jacuzzi, a Nordic bath, cryotherapy and open-air massage. Room choices run from simple doubles to a 50-square-metre Zen Suite, an ocean-view Romantic Luxury Suite and a villa with its own outdoor jacuzzi. The restaurant and beach club focus on seafood and local dishes, with cocktails at sunset. Yoga and meditation sessions run too. It suits couples who want quiet and nature over nightlife.
Pets are welcome on request. A car is useful: the hotel is on a quiet coastal lane outside the villages.
