Laguna Nivaria Hotel & Spa occupies a mansion whose origins go back to the 16th century, on the Plaza del Adelantado in the heart of San Cristóbal de La Laguna's World Heritage old town. It has 79 rooms, including family rooms for four with a separate lounge and a suite with its own solarium and jacuzzi.
The 250-square-metre spa, for over-16s, has a pool with counter-current jets, a jacuzzi, a Turkish bath and a Finnish sauna, and the gym is free and open from early morning. Much of the produce in the kitchens comes from the owners' organic farm in Valle de Guerra. Eat in the Plaza restaurant or Restaurante Laguna, or take a drink in the Nivaria Café's patio. Step out and the cathedral, market and tapas streets are all close by.
