La LagunaOn our lists
La Laguna Gran Hotel joins an 18th-century main building to a newer wing, right beside the historic centre of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, the World Heritage university city in the hills above Santa Cruz. It has 123 rooms, from Deluxe doubles to suites, some with terraces, so it feels larger and more polished than most hotels in the old town.
Food is a real strength. There are two restaurants, Verodes and Nómada, plus the Laguna Café, a wine bar and a weekend-style brunch. On the fourth floor a 22-metre rooftop pool and a gym share a terrace with views over the city's rooftops. Step out and you are among colonial streets, churches and tapas bars, with Tenerife North airport (TFN) only a short drive away. It suits couples and culture lovers on a city break.
Pets are not allowed. Cots for children up to 2 are free on request.
