Hotel La Casona del Patio

La Casona del Patio is a 17th-century manor house in the village of Santiago del Teide, in the green hills of western Tenerife, once home to a local noble family and now a protected heritage building. Its 20 rooms keep traditional Canarian wooden ceilings, the Standard rooms have bathtubs, and the Superior rooms add a private terrace facing the mountains. The coast at Los Gigantes is a short drive downhill.

This is a base for active days. The hotel's activity menu takes in hiking on the volcanic trails around Chinyero and in the Teno mountains, road cycling over the island's passes, yoga and cross training, plus the Masca gorge, a Teide summit climb, stargazing and whale watching. From January to April the almond blossom is out. There is also a coworking space inside the old house. It suits walkers, cyclists and couples.
